A Blue Christmas service, also called the Longest Night service, is a contemplative worship service, typically held around the winter solstice, that offers a space for those experiencing grief, loss, or sadness during the holidays. These services provide an alternative to traditional Christmas celebrations by acknowledging pain and sorrow, rather than solely focusing on joy, and offer comfort through prayer, music, and candle lighting. It is a sacred space to honor struggles like the loss of a loved one, broken relationships, or other forms of grief.
All are welcome!
